FIFA World Cup 2010 Opening Ceremony Live Stream: The opening ceremony for the 2010 FIFA World Cup will start today June 10 at Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa 2 PM .The Opening ceremony is expected to be the biggest pop extravaganza in the continent’s history with 1,581 performers from around the world,Shakira, Alicia Keys and the Black Eyed Peas, as well as Algeria’s Khaled, Ghana’s Osibisa and Hip Hop Pantsula.
View the World Cup printable schedule.To perform the official 2010 World Cup song, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, would be singer/songwriter Shakira. She will team up with a local South African group Freshlyground. The song is based upon a traditional African soldiers’ song named Zangalewa.

North, East, South and West will once again be united in sports in the greatest sporting event man has ever seen in the past 2 centuries. Held every 4 years, the best football/soccer teams in the planet will give it their all just for a taste of World Cup glory.How will the teams compete? At first, the 32 teams will be divided into 8 groups. Each group will consist of 4 teams who would compete in a single round robin. The top 2 teams in each group will then advance to the knockout stage (round of 16 / 2nd round) then the quarter finals, then the semi finals, then the third place match and eventually the World Cup Finals.
