Killer Elite Movie Review.
For the Indian audiences who have not seen Jason Statham in an action movie, this movie can be the best action flick. But for the ones who have seen him and Robert De Niro in similar roles and in similar looking movies now every day the trailer will be so irritating. Because these actors are good and what they need is to have a change now. Especially Jason Statham, although it can kill his career as he really can’t  do anything apart from action flicks, so looks like we will have to watch him do movies like this and wait for good action movies to come once in every four movie he will be doing.

"Inside Out," the latest air-sucking stranglehold on genre moviemaking from World Wrestling Entertainment, presents itself as a redemption tale about an ex-con (Paul "Triple H" Levesque) getting mixed up in criminality when the healing love of an old flame (Parker Posey) and her teenage daughter are so tantalizingly close. This also happens to be the story of the last Levesque/WWE collaboration, the similarly entertainment-free caper comedy "The Chaperone," which worryingly suggests a star-making campaign for the hulking smackdown alumnus akin to an Einstein-attributed definition of insanity.

That said, even crazy-eyed Bruce Dern as a cigarette-smuggling kingpin and crazy-talking Michael Rapaport as his reckless son — who lures AJ (Levesque) back into illegality — can't save this tonal mishmash from feeling anything but dully silly. It's truly hard to tell whether director Artie Mandelberg and lawyer-turned-screenwriter Dylan Schaffer are being serious or tongue-in-cheek about the movie's many deaths, the tax-evasion story line, all the talk about pickle-making (AJ's post-prison career dream), a maniacal Eastern European female goon and Posey's disinterested line readings.The only constant is Levesque's stern gaze, limited range and granite build, qualities that haven't stopped others from movie careers but here do little to engender calls for a cinematic rematch.

Warrior English Movie Review : You are forgiven for thinking you have seen it all before. Warrior, from director Gavin O'Connor, shares plenty of DNA with the fight-centred Oscar-winner The Fighter. Both films deal with fractured blue collar nuclear families that will either be healed or broken forever in the catharthis machine that Hollywood convention has long decided is the modern fighting ring (a boxing ring in the case of The Fighter, a mixed martial arts “MMA” ring in the case of this film).

Both films feature brothers on a collision course. Both have little weight attached to the decisions of their female characters. Both feature black sheep family members struggling with addiction, shame and mistrust.In Warrior, the sport is different, and the brothers are not just metaphorically clashing - their battle actually takes place in the ring itself. Both films share one other feature - they are both put together well enough and carried along by a watchable cast that allows them to paper over their many cracks.

There are two reasons for why I am going to watch this despite at the beginning, I have no interest on this film called ‘Thor’ at all. The first reason is that I want to enjoy the Saturday’s evening for a movie, then I think there is no other better movie than this, so I picked ‘Thor’. The second reason is that I found out that the film received widely positive reviews and good rating, can be considered among the best until now for the current year. So, I’m going to watch this to prove that!

Here below is the official trailer of the movie ‘Thor’ from YouTube. The main casts in the film include Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, etc. I am here mainly not for the main actor, but for Natalie whom had recently won Best Actress in Oscar not long ago for her outstanding performance in ‘Black Swan’. Back to Thor, here is the trailer before I bring you to my review on the film.

I have no other adjective to describe this film besides than ‘intelligent’. The movie is very well crafted and usually, movies from Marvel Studio always look promising and exciting. It’s a superhero movie that is way different from others like Spiderman or Iron Man. It’s Thor, a big-sized man, the son of the King of Asgard punished by the King for breaking into the land of the Frost Giants to start the war and was sent to the Earth without the power to lift up his weapon which is a small hammer that a bit disappointing me (the hammer should be larger!). He is then dealt with people on Earth and felt in love with a female scientist and his brother is jealous of him that would be crowned as the future king…and so the story progresses (sorry for a little bit of spoiler here)…

Chris Hemsworth is a huge-sized man that really freaks me out and is very suitable to be casted as the main character, Thor. He had a good performance in here, along with Natalie Portman as Jane, the scientist he felt in love with. Natalie Portman is beautiful and lovely, and I like her on screen. The story development goes in the way that everyone is brought along to the pace which goes not too fast or too slow and easy to be understood. Let me tell you that this story of Thor is very unique and stands out on its own among other superhero movies, and it is very interesting with some exciting climax in between.

The fighting scenes are not much but is already sufficient for Thor and for the audiences. I can’t believe there are really some hilarious parts in between this movie that appears to be very serious. The humor of the movie goes well without being seen like being forced into the characters. One more thing I would like to praise on the film is the amount of effort put on designing the whole virtual world of Asgard and the less complicated land of Frost Giants. It is spectacular and breathtaking especially when I am watching it in 3D this time. However, the 3D effects for this film is not strong enough to leave us breathless. Out of 10 points, I would gave this one 7.8, proven to be among the best for the year 2011 up to this moment.

Somewhere hidden inside No Strings Attached is a thoughtful and complicated film about the way truly brilliant people too often over-intellectualize their lives. Natalie Portman plays Emma, a high-IQ up and coming doctor who’s spent her entire life applying the cold logic which serves her so well everywhere else, to the matters of love. In doing so she’s reached the conclusion that relationships are not worth the trouble and even if they were, she doesn’t have time for it. But women, even the most intellectual women, have needs; so when she finds Ashton Kutcher’s Adam naked and in her bedroom, Emma proposes an arrangement: They’ll sleep together with no strings attached, allowing them both to quench their physical desires in the most efficient way possible without getting tangled up in all that stuff she doesn’t want to deal with. Adam, who’s a man, naturally agrees. And then, unfortunately, the movie begins the process of slowly turning Portman’s MIT honors graduate into Katherine Heigl.

Before this story’s over Emma will end up hiding in bushes outside Adam’s door and stuffing her face with discount donut holes, but it feels like those scenes are only in there because someone told director Ivan Reitman this is supposed to be a comedy. Yet even though the movie opens with a joke about kids fingering each other and follows it up with plenty of attempts at gags involving sex friends, it never really feels like there’s anything going on here which someone might want to laugh at. This should have been a serious romance movie about a genius finding a way to get past all the hard numbers cluttering up her head, to deal with the emotions she’s repressed, but No Strings always stops just short of going there. It wants so desperately to be a rom-com, and it’s not.

Ashton Kutcher has developed something of a reputation as an idiot, but the truth is that he’s not an idiot, he just makes movies for idiots. The guy can actually act, he just doesn’t seem to care where he does it. He gives a solid performance in No Strings Attached playing the big hearted romantic opposite Natalie Portman’s Vulcan-like thinker, and the two have a sort of awkward chemistry together that might have turned into something special in a film built on surer footing.

Part of the problem is that Kutcher’s character ends up as the movie’s lead when it probably should have been Portman as the focus. We spend a lot of running time on Adam’s work and family life, none of which really seems to relate in any way to the real heart of the film: his relationship with Emma. Kevin Kline is a big part of that, as a dead-end subplot in which Adam has a celebrity father. This too seems as though it was only shoe-horned in at the last minute, because someone decided this movie needed to be funny. Despite Kline’s usual heroics, it isn’t.

What’s here are a lot of questions about what might have been. There’s plenty to like about No Strings Attached, enough that you’ll wish it had been done better. Even as is the film delivers a few genuinely well-thought out ideas with interesting performances built on a script that, for the most part anyway, thinks outside the box. Yes it’s too often scattered and unsure of what it wants to be, but maybe there’s something worthwhile in this story, despite the missteps. If you’re looking for romance, you could do a lot worse than No Strings Attached.

Tron Legacy Movie Review.
In the 28 years it took for “Tron: Legacy” to reach your local Theater or IMAX screen, Communism fell, Al Gore invented the Internet and discovered global warming, and the idea of a movie based around video games became less of a “WTF”. The original “Tron”, for me, was always elusive. Every now and then I'd catch a half hour here, twenty minutes there, always on late night TV, but never had I seen the entire film.This did not stop me from engorging myself on the Sequel. This movie is the visuals, and they deliver. They deliver in so many ways it's impossible to describe. For all the awards and praise Avatar received for amazing special effects, I enjoyed “Tron: Legacy” more. “Tron: Legacy” felt like a high stakes adventure, whereas Avatar felt like a message picture with some action scenes thrown in.

Actually, the “Avatar” comparisons don't stop there. Both feature characters transported into a mystical faraway world. While “Avatar”'s was essentially a giant jungle we've all seen before with floating rocks, the world of “Tron:Legacy” was fun. It's a dystopian, techno trash, acid trip, playground, with sleek shiny black skyscrapers and hidden levels upon levels. Flying cars? Yep! Weird “N” shaped enemy ships? Sure! Shifting Gravity? Of course! Michael Sheen from “Frost/Nixon” with a pimp cane and eyeliner? Why not!

And, also, spectacular decapitations abound! The way people die in this movie is just splendid. Whenever anyone meets their untimely end in “Tron: Legacy”, they explode into this red, blue, or yellow technomush, their faces pausing just a half a second so we can see the look of anguish on the face of the fallen.Jeff Bridges is the second name on the marquee behind the visual effects, and in general I was impressed by the acting all around. I mean, really all anyone in this movie has to do is be able to look convincingly sad, angry, or amazed (sometimes all at once), but I kept wondering who Garrett Hedlund was, and where I had seen him, because he's actually really good.

By about the halfway point, The Daft Punk heavy electronica score gets you, the visuals get you, and you're dialed in, you care about the characters, what's going to happen, maybe even on the edge of your seat a little bit. Then it ends...and your disappointed. Not by the sort of weak climax, but because stepping out of the theater means stepping into the the real world. Where 3D glasses don't work the way they should, the good and bad guys aren't color coded, and even Chicago's skyline seems flat.

Black Swan Full Movie Review :Black Swan is the story of how a ballerina takes her dancing from brilliant to even better, which is not much of a journey by anyone's standards.With so little to work with, and only one dimensional characters to tell the tale, this film flails around for two arduous hours, much like a dying swan, with only the fall of the curtain to put it out of its misery.

Nina (Natalie Portman) is a ballerina whose life is completely consumed with dance, and when Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace his prima ballerina for his next Swan lake production, Nina is his first choice.Although Nina is the perfect white swan, she struggles to create the passion needed to depict the black swan and is faced with constant criticism from her artistic director.The cleverly cut trailer of this film makes it look like a psychological thriller, which is totally misleading. It's actually an extremely dark, slow paced drama, with some ludicrous scenes thrown in to try and create tension that simply does not exist.

An example of this is when Nina visits the ex-prima ballerina in hospital. Loud 'Swan Lake' music plays as she lifts the sheet, inch by inch, to look at the ballerina's legs, which she already knows are damaged.The music gets louder and louder until she sees some bleeding cuts and then she runs out, accompanied by a musical crescendo. This scene contributes nothing to the story and only serves to illuminate how lame the writing really is.

Much of what happens lacks logic. Nina's mother initially suffocates, then sabotages, then she's supportive.At one stage Nina appears to have been sexually liberated but later this is contradicted. She is initially neurotic, possibly self-harming and then becomes psychotic, but it's never clear what has really happened to her and what she has imagined happened.But the most unenjoyable aspect of this film is Nina herself. She is eternally miserable, subservient, fearful and usually on the verge of/in tears.Even when she is made the prima ballerina she is angst-ridden and weepy and it makes you wonder how she'd have reacted if she had won the lottery. The greatest director in the world can't save a bad script, but Darren Aronofsky, could have at least got Nina to crack a smile once in a while, and not picking up on something this obvious shows a complete lack of perception.Aronofsky also directed the brilliantly written and performed Wrestler, which brings his contribution into question and also questions how over rated directors really are. Perhaps if the entertainment industry were to stop spelling their title with a capital 'D' , they might not all be quite so puffed up.

Indian fans might be ecstatic to know that the third in the Narnia series, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader", will release here a week before its US screening.To be the first outing in the series to come out in 3D format, it will hit Indian screens Dec 3 with over 800 prints in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It is being distributed by Fox Star Studios here. In the US, it will release Dec 10.

"We are delighted to offer our Narnia fans this unique opportunity and that too in 3D and multiple Indian languages. It's great entertainment which will appeal to a wide cross-section of demographics across the country. The buzz that is building up for 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader' is very encouraging," Vijay Singh, chief executive officer, Fox Star Studios India, said in a statement.

The Narnia franchise features in the top five Hollywood film franchises in India of all time.Directed by Micheal Apted, it is the big-screen adaptation of the third published novel in C.S. Lewis's epic fantasy series. It stars Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, Will Poulter, Ben Barnes, Liam Neeson and Simon Pegg.The latest Narnia extravaganza will see Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, who along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb, find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world. Joining forces once again with their royal friend Prince Caspian and the warrior mouse Reepicheep, they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond.

On the voyage, the trio face magical Dufflepuds, sinister slave traders, roaring dragons and enchanted merfolk. However, only an entirely uncharted journey to Aslan's country - a voyage of destiny and transformation for each of those aboard the Dawn Treader can save Narnia, and all the astonishing creatures in it, from an unfathomable fate.

Movie Review " Warner Bros. Pictures held a test screening for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 today in Chicago, Illinois and scooper 'Kyle' was in attendance. You can read his thoughts below!

I was lucky enough to get invited to a secret test screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I at the AMC River East in Chicago this afternoon. We weren't told what movie we would be seeing until seconds before it started, but my friends and I suspected that it may be Harry Potter due to the Warner Bros signs and the intense security. When producer David Heyman walked in, I was pretty sure what it would be. Director David Yates was also in attendance, and spent some time talking with fans outside the theatre after the film.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I is a great continuation of the series, thematically and visually in line with films 5 and 6. Though it is a fast-paced film, with several nice setpieces and much-improved performances from the young cast, it does suffer from two major problems. First, it faithfully adapts the seventh book, including the book's own problems. The "camping in the wilderness" scenes become quite repetitive, and the attempts at drama/angst amongst the trio during these scenes comes off as tired. Also, the scenes involving the locket horcrux causing its wearer to be angry/aggressive are far too reminiscent of Lord of the Rings. All three young stars acquit themselves admirably, however, doing the best they can with the material. Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, in particular, are quite good. The second problem with the film, and this may be fixed by the time the final cut is released, is the editing. Some scenes feel utterly rushed and incoherent (Godric's Hollow, for example). Others go on for far too long (Ron becomes jealous, etc.). There are several flashes / dream sequences that demonstrate Voldemort's search for the Elder Wand. These are bizarrely edited and poorly executed. Luckily, they are just a small fraction of the film.

Despite these issues, this was a quality film on par with films 5 and 6, both of which I quite enjoyed. As with those films, the cinematography is beautiful. There are several creative and dramatic shots throughout the film, so that even if one gets bored, you could just stare in awe at the scenery. The beginning of the film is also quite exciting, including some hilarious scenes with multiple "Harry"s, and a series of great action sequences. The visual effects were not completely finished in these sequences, but I imagine it was quite close to what the final version will be. Another effective sequence involves the trio escaping to a small cafe in London, and a resulting fight that involves wands and spells but feels more like a shootout.

The film ends at a very appropriate spot, and though not exactly a "cliffhanger", left me greatly anticipating Part II.At the end of the film, we all filled out lengthy questionnaires regarding our opinion of the film overall (I gave it 4/5), as well as our likes/dislikes with the performances, scenes, and other aspects.Though I will reserve final judgement until after seeing Part II, this is overall an effective and exciting, if not perfect, continuation of the series that struggles with some of the same problems as the final book, but mostly overcomes them through excellent technical aspects and performances.

The Story:
Peter Highman is a well-dressed, uptight architect who needs to return home to LA in order to be present at the birth of his first child. Peter knows it will happen in just a couple of days because he and his wife, Sarah (Michelle Monaghan), have scheduled the birth by cesarean section.

Ethan Tremblay is a wannabe actor, a man-child carrying his dead father's ashes in a coffee can. Ethan wants to get to Hollywood (not Los Angeles, as he stresses to Peter), has a packet full of head shots and unbridled optimism about his chances for a career in the entertainment world.

Under normal circumstances, Peter and Ethan would never meet. But they do, and that sets in motion a chain of events that could only happen in a road trip comedy. Ethan and Peter's vehicles run into each other outside the airport, their baggage gets mixed up, the words 'bomb' and 'terrorist' are uttered on a plane, and voila! Peter and Ethan are both placed on the no-fly list by an unforgiving TSA agent (Matt Walsh) who suggests that if Forrest Gump could make his way cross country, then Peter's sure to be able to handle the logistics.However, Peter doesn't have his luggage and has lost his wallet thus making it impossible to rent a car. Ethan's got a limited amount of money and no social skills but a big heart, so he offers the unfriendly architect a ride to California.

Now Peter, he doesn't just dislike Ethan, he hates him. He hates his clothes, his dog, his perm, hates the questions he asks, and is not supportive at all of Ethan's career choice. Ethan accepts that Peter is basically a massive jerk but tries to get along with him anyway. Did I mention Ethan's a little off and is barely able to function without someone reminding him to use the toilet?As they make their way toward the West Coast, Peter and Ethan go through a series of trials and tribulations - purchasing pot, launching their car off a freeway overpass, making a wrong turn into Mexico - before finally realizing they might just be friends. Just like you knew they would figure out from the get-go.

For Colored Girls Full Film Review : It’s too bad Tyler Perry couldn’t take a cue from his film’s title, which was chopped down from For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, the 1975 Ntozake Shange play upon which the film is based, to simply For Colored Girls. Just like his name attracts massive amounts of moviegoers, it works like a charm when it comes to casting, too. Yes, it’s thrilling to print a massive list of famous names on your roster, try to adapt an iconic play and express a hefty handful of heavy-duty messages, but when it came to actually making those elements thrive in a film, it proved to be far more than Perry could handle.

Phylicia Rashad is Gilda, the manager of a New York City apartment building and the unofficial housemother, especially when it comes to her next-door neighbor Tangie (Thandie Newton). Night after night Tangie brings a new guy back to her place and sends them packing early the next morning, however, her younger sister, Nyla (Tessa Thompson), is dealing with an entirely different situation. She’s thrilled about finally losing her virginity, but her world comes crashing down when she finds out she’s pregnant. Even worse? Her mother (Whoopi Goldberg) is entirely consumed by her religious beliefs and would only shun Nyla for her sin.

Then there’s Janet Jackson as the big time magazine editor with an attitude, Joanna. When she isn’t tossing folks seeking charitable donations like Juanita (Loretta Devine) out of her office, she’s busy bossing around her longtime assistant Crystal (Kimberly Elise). As if life at work isn’t hard enough, at home Crystal has to deal with her abusive husband and care for her two young children. Gilda’s got her eye on the situation and even takes it upon herself to summon a social services agent, Kelly (Kerry Washington). Kelly also ends up consoling Anika Noni Rose’s character, Yasmine, after a vicious sexual assault.

Clearly the roster is quite large and that’s For Colored Girls’ biggest problems; barely any of the characters are fully developed. Each and every one of them is dealing with a very real and serious problem, however, only a few manage to convey the severity of their situation to the point at which the audience can sympathize with their plight. When it comes to the rest, it’s just too hard to care.

The performances and dialogue are flat almost across the board. The drab begins right from the start when Perry delivers an awkward montage of his leading ladies as they recite Shange’s words, in voiceover, overlapping as it goes from one character to the next. The words completely lose their meaning thanks to the lifeless recitations and come across as preachy more than anything.

The words directly from Perry’s pen don’t fare well either. Every character’s situation is as formulaic as they come, which is primarily due to the fact that they’re extremely underdeveloped. Perry starts off fantastically, providing detailed introductions to each woman, but doesn’t seem to know where to go from there and when he hits that wall, just tosses the character into some devastating situation. Yasmine goes from an innocent dance teacher looking for the right man to a battered rape victim and while Nyla goes from a bubbly dance student to the victim of a shady and seemingly mentally unstable abortionist (Macy Gray). Perry certainly knows how to rip your heart out with these moments; if only he was capable of properly padding them so they came across as aiming for something more than sheer shock value.

For most of the film, every actress simply walks through, reading lines. They’re not trying to portray a character, merely convey some grandiose message that has no weight in the context of the film. The sole actress who is not only guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes, but hold your attention throughout the film, is Elise. Her character is quite subdued at the onset, but when she runs into her traumatizing situation, your heart will break right along with hers. The horrific nature of the moment is overwhelmingly powerful in and of itself, but it’s Elise’s honest performance that makes it that much more emotional. Thompson does quite well in her role as well, but the part of Nyla, like most of the characters, only strikes a chord when she’s down. The moment she overcomes her obstacle, she’s a bit of a bore.

It’s impossible to pin point one major problem with For Colored Girls for everything is just so-so at best. Perhaps Perry was just too concerned with shoving some extravagant point about the hardships faced by women of color in our faces because just about ever other element of the film is devastatingly weak. The majority of the action is missed thanks to poor camera work, the editing is sloppy, the performances are bland, the characters are stale and, to top it all off, Perry desperately tries to lift his fallen characters up by forcing all of their stories to converge so the film can end with a star-studded, but unintentionally silly group hug.

Megamind (Will Ferrell) and Metro Man (Brad Pitt) are just babies when their planets are destroyed, with the pair sent hurtling to earth by their fast-thinking parents.
