April 21, 2010 (Calcutta Tube): The Kannada movie Nooru Janmaku had its music launch at Chancery Pavilion at Bangalore on Monday evening. Smt. Sumalatha Ambarish and actor Puneeth Rajakumar released the album, which is produced by Anand Audio. Singers Rajesh Krishnan, MD Pallavi, Hemanth and Chitra were present at the event with supporting artists Bank Janardhana, Veena Bhat and the editor of the film Basavaraj Urs.The film is directed by Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar. the movie’s album was launchedThis is Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar’s 12th directorial venture. The album features a song, America America, penned by the director himself and it has been set to tune by popular music director Mano Murthy. The director has also written the song Nooru Janmaku Nooraru Janmaku for the movie.He addressed the media where he stated that to make a good film, he needs to have a good script and the right kind of producer.Actor Santosh of Kallarali Hoovagi fame plays the lead role in the movie, with actress Aindrita Ray playing the heroine. Telugu actor Adarsh will be playing a negative role. Aindrita was absent from the music launch because of the slapping controversy that happened between her and the director.Nooru Janmaku is businessman Vinay Lad’s maiden Kannada production venture.
Nooru Janmaku (Music review)After the recession is almost over, allegedly, we have an ode…in the form of Banthu banthu recession! It’s mundane and pedestrian, as a song, anyway. Gelluba gelluba is the stuff of legendary bad songs – one outdated Middle Eastern sound that seems entirely inane. Ivanu yaaravva, with its 80s sound is even more annoying, while Maneyanu kattona has Mano Murthy aping Pritam’s style and failing miserably. Ironically, the only song that works is the remix of the composer’s own America America number – the title song. Mano Murthy and Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar perhaps need to seriously introspect on their music strategy.
