Plot-Sadiyaan is a period film and it tells the story of how the lives of people are affected when partition takes place in 1947.Hema plays a Muslim woman and Rekha plays a Hindu woman.Sadiyan tries to portray the pains of the people who are forced to go away in different ways, till once gain fate brings them closer. Now it is time to face the truth and rebuild their lives.
General Reviews-Well, to be honest, Sadiyaan is for selective audience. Those who love purely desi movies will like it very much, but it won’t have much appeal to the popcorn crunching multiplex generation.The movie has two stories running parallely.While the love story between Luv and Ferena has nothing new to offer, the interaction of two mothers, played by Hema and Rekha is simply a treat to watch.
The best thing of the movie is the acting of the three main actors of this film-Rekha, Rishi Kapoor and Hema Malini since all are established actors, but we can say that they have performed extremely well. Luv Sinha is good, though he needs to be a little more confident and polished. Ferene is good, but needs to improve her makeup and wardrobe. Other actors like Javed Sheikh, Vivek Shauq, Avtar Gill are perfect in their respective roles.The dramatic scenes have been handled well, but the writing looks kind of dated. The comedy looks forced too.
Conclusion-This movie is perfect for you if you are a sucker for old fashioned desi dramas.
