Directed by Milind Ukey, the film has Nana Patekar and Ayesha Takia as teachers.

Since the foot-juggler Shahid is a teacher now, music of the movie doesn’t have dancing numbers. But, hold on! The new composer Hanif Sheikh has come up with some mellifluous, hummable tunes for you. Now, getting to the album directly.
If in the west they can’t do without the use of the word ‘Baby’, east (Bollywood) can’t get enough of ‘Khuda’. After My Name Is Khan’s Khuda song it’s Aey Khuda which has emerged a chartbuster. Crooned by singer Salim Merchant of Salim-Sulieman composer duo, this song is soft, breezy and hummable without a high dose of techno music. Easy on the ears. Now it’s the time to feel khush-khush with Khushnuma. Vishal Dadlani of Vishal-Shekhar duo wields the microphone for this peppy, pop song. Vishal doesn’t sing from the top of his lungs, but mesmerizes us with his unusual way of singing. How long it’s been since you heard Lucky Ali? Quite long, isn’t it! He is here singing Bekarar for you. The song has a distinct Sufi touch to it but the way Hanif has treated it is different and has made it more melodious. Thus infectious!

Here is another hardcore romantic song for you; Mujhe Teri Ankhon Ki is a typical lilting song. The number fails to tug at your heart because you have heard several saccharine-sweet numbers like this. However, effort by singers Tulsi Kumar, Skansha Lama and Hanif Sheikh is praiseworthy.Aey Khuda gets a Kailash Kher version. Though the singer has sung this kind of song a zillion times, but again he captivates you with his haunting voice. Hanif has done a wonderful job with this song and has used flute for some parts giving it a devotional touch.Next in the line is the remix of Aey Khuda. And I seriously find it unnecessary, but DJ Chetas managed to deliver an okay remix by not playing much with the vibe of the original. But again, this is not a kind of song to be played on DJ consoles.Anyway, moving on to the next remix…err…remixes.
Bekarar remix is just bland and bad and so is Teri Marzi remix. Mujhe Teri remix loses its passionate fervor and gets too edgy. However, Paathshaala theme track is a pleasant instrumental piece.Except the set of remixes, the movie’s album does have a few soulful tracks suffused with melodious tunes. Aey Khuda and Bekarar have an appeal. But the songs will see a downfall soon as these kind of tracks, though hummable, do keep floating in and out.
Need of the hour is to be experimental. What say?

Overall Music Review of PaathshalaThe whole album reminds us of old college days of love and romance. Not a single boring track in the whole album is a rare accomplishment you'll see these days. Songs are decent but do not expect, they'll be huge chartbusters. Aimed for selected audiences, who love slow romantic songs only.
