FULL MOVIE REVIEW PHOONK 2:::Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has challenged the public to watch his upcoming horror film ‘Phoonk 2′ alone in a theatre, promising a cash prize to the person who manages to do so. Varma threw the challenge while promoting his film in India’s showbiz capital Mumbai in the western state of Maharashtra on February 22. Varma said he would award five lakh rupees to the one who would be able to finish watching the film all by himself or herself.
The film tells the story of an evil spirit ruining the peace of a family that has shifted to a new town.Varma had issued the same challenge before the release of ‘Phoonk’ in 2008, but the person who took on the challenge was unable to watch the film for even 30 minutes, and exited the theatre.
Ram Gopal Varma returns with yet another spookfest starring Sudeep, Amruta Khanvilkar, Ahsaas Channa, Rishab Jain, Zakir Hussain and Ashwini Kaleskar. The movie, presented by Ramu, is directed by Milind Gadagkar. Outline On bagging a new construction project, Rajiv (Sudeep) moves with his family to a new transfer. Raksha & Rohan begin exploring the new place & the surroundings – the lonely beach & then the woods after the house. The terror begins with Raksha & Rohan finding a toy in the woods & then it progresses to a series of highly traumatizing experiences for the whole family. Manja (Zakir Hussain), the only man whom Rajiv could turn to, meets a gruesome death at the hands of the black magic woman Madhu’s ghost, who has risen from the grave to avenge her own death… to seek vengeance on Rajiv, by torturing his loved ones – his wife Aarti & their children, Raksha & Rohan in unthinkably cruel ways. Phoonk 2 captures the fear of a family caught hostage to a murderous, animalistic spirit seeking revenge by brutally terrorizing them. Terrorized by the demonic force, will Rajiv give in to the ghost or will he betray his family and give up? Will the family survive as the gruesome & repulsing murders are committed? Will the ghost live with them till they become ghosts themselves? The option that Rajiv has to put together in the absolute moments of the film forms a very unsettling & a highly disturbing high point.
Phoonk 2 is in Theator release on April 16th.
