At last…I have been waiting years to see this film along with many of you as well I’m sure. Although the wait was quite long and tedious…it was worth it. I finally got the chance to see this film last night and excitement isn’t even strong enough of a word to describe how I was feeling right before the viewing. Trick r Treat did not disappoint…it was one fun ride!
The film is quite similar to the motif of such films like the original CREEPSHOW and even adopts the comic book layout and format throughout the film which is a nice touch indeed. Everything from the opening credit sequences to various points throughout the film we get little comic book panels with words explaining the set up or time frame.
As I am sure most of you are aware the film revolves around Halloween Night in Warren Valley Ohio where there is a big Halloween festival going on. We get four tales of terror from this one evening and what’s really cool is all the tales interweave with one another at all different points during the film. This gives the film great
replay value as you can pick up on things you may have missed the first time around.
don’t want to ruin it for anyone by including spoilers…just know this…there are several twists in the film I myself did not see coming…and a few that I did. It is a very well structured film and the writing and direction are sharp. I honestly for the life of me can’t figure out why this film did not make it to theaters…it’s a very fun ride if you claim to be a horror fan. Grant it it’s not too scary and there is not a ton of gore…but if you have a love for the greatest holiday ever and love all the traditions that come with it this film rocks. And that’s what this film is all about really…the traditions of Halloween…and the price you pay if you break them or aren’t careful. See this film! It was worth the wait…I was not disappointed!

Trick 'r Treat is an upcoming 2009 horror film. It was written and directed by Michael Dougherty and based on his short film Season's Greetings. Originally slated for an October 5, 2007 release, it was announced in September 2007 that the film had been pushed back. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are slated to release the film direct to dvd on October 6, 2009 in the US and October 26th in the UK.
